Offer - Drums

Popular Music Course – Drums is a programme for people over 6 years old.

The main goal of the course is:

Learning basic playing techniques and rhythms,

Improvisation from the very beginning,

New motivation at every level,

Preparation for playing in a band.

Who can participate?
Children from 6 years of age, teenagers and adults

Drum classes at our school are conducted by Dominik Karkoszka, Maciej Burzyński and Bartłomiej Karwański.

Dominik Karkoszka

Instrument: Drums

A jazz drummer from Poznań

Born in 1999, he graduated from the 1st and 2nd Music School of Oskar Kolberg in Szczecinek, currently a percussion student at the Academy of Music. Ignacy Jan Paderewski at the jazz department.

Ever since he started developing his musical passion, he has been constantly trying to draw inspiration from various genres from the world of jazz, but also funk, rock and Latin music. He began his percussion learning at a classical music school, which opens the mind to various other genres.

Active member of the big band of the Academy of Music and various music projects related to the Poznań music community. Organizer of jazz jam sessions at Hyćka Club in Poznań.

Participant of many jazz workshops, incl. The European Jazz School in Turkey and the Internationaler Workshop für Jugend-Bigbands in Neubrandenburg.

In addition to music, he is passionate about astronomy and cycling.

Bartłomiej Karwański

Instruments: drums, classical guitar, keyboards

He was educated in the Yamaha Music School system from the age of 4.

A graduate of the Music Academy in Poznań with the specialism of choral conducting.

In the years 2012-2019 he was the conductor of Schola Lednicka, while he also conducted the Choir and Orchestra during the World Youth Days in Krakow.

In his free time, he likes to ride his bike and play squash and volleyball.

He adores his family, with whom he loves to spend his free time.

Maciej Burzyński

Maciej Burzyński graduated with honors from Ignacy Paderewski Music Academy in Poznań in the prof. Krzysztof Przybyłowicz percussion class. He studied classical percussion and sound engineering at the Folkwang Universität Der Künste in Essen.

His artistic achievements include individual and team prizes awarded at festivals and competitions, such as: 1st prize winner at the Avant Drum Session percussion competition, Poznań 2009; winner of the 1st prize for the composition “For You" in the competition announced by the Department of Music and Theory in Zielona Góra for jazz compositions (2013); 1st prize winner with the Global Schwung Quintet at the Krokus Jazz Festival, Jelenia Góra 2015; 1st Prize Winner with the Global Schwung Quintet as part of Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa, 2016; 2nd place with the band Żyny Kolektif at RCK PRO JAZZ Festival, Kołobrzeg 2016; 2nd place with the band Michał Kaczmarczyk Trio at the International Competition „Powiew Młodego Jazzu" as part of the Krokus Jazz Festival, Jelenia Góra 2017.

He performs and records with many Polish artists, including: Krystyna Prońko, Haarpagans feat. The Blu Mantic, Global Schwung Quintet, Przemek Raminiak Qurtet, Michał Kaczmarczyk Trio.
