At the same time, he played in the big band “Young Big-Band Szczecinek", with which he performed, among others, in Germany (Internationaler Workshop für Jugend-Bigbands in Neubrandenburg) and at the national big band festival in Nowy Tomyśl. Even before starting his studies at the Academy of Music, he participated in the unique project of the symphony orchestra “Amber Youth Orchestra", which united musicians from all over Western Pomerania. The orchestra performed in 2018, among others, in Berlin, Gdańsk and Koszalin.

In 2018, Dominik began his bachelor’s degree studies at the Instrumental Department at the Institute of Jazz and Popular Music, specializing in jazz percussion at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, under the supervision of prof. Krzysztof Przybyłowicz.

During his studies, he quickly began to broaden his musical horizons, gaining experience in various projects in the field of jazz and pop music. He took part, among others, in a series of academic concerts with the big band of the Academy of Music, collaborated with the musical department, participating in performances at the Musical Theatre in Poznań and the academic theatre “Scena Robocza". He also played in the rhythm section of the Poznań Symphony Orchestra, which collaborated with artists such as Kayah, Mietek Szcześniak, Mateusz Ziółko, Natalia Kukulska and Sound’n’Grace.

Dominik regularly expands his skills by participating in prestigious music workshops, such as the European Jazz School in Turkey and Italy, the nationwide PoluZONE workshops under the supervision of Robert Luty and “Latem Zagrane" with the orchestra led by Adam Sztaba.

In 2022, he began studies abroad at the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome, where he improved his skills under the supervision of world-class musicians such as Fabrizio Sferra (known from the Enrico Pieranunzi Trio), Rosario Giuliani and Pietro Lussu. During his stay in Rome, he had the opportunity to perform at clubs such as AlexanderPlatz Jazz Club, Gregory’s Jazz Club and the famous Casa del Jazz.

Dominik graduated with distinction from his master’s degree, earning a master’s degree in jazz percussion. He currently collaborates with bands such as Dizzy Boyz Brass Band, Typowa Kowalska, Strefa Zero and Gospel Joy. Sławomir Tokłowicz

I have been involved with music from an early age. The first masters who introduced me to the world of music were prof. Stefan Stuligrosz, and my father Wojciech Tokłowicz. The fascination with drums appeared in the 7th grade of primary school and continues to this day.

In 1978 I started studying at the Music Secondary School in Poznań in the percussion class under the supervision of prof. Marian Rapczewski. After graduating from high school, I continued my studies at the Academy of Music in Poznań, under the supervision of the excellent teacher Jorges Valcarcel.

Over the years, my work has primarily involved being a session musician, which involves collaborating with many bands and, as a result, playing various types of music, from folk, rock, to jazz and improvised music.
I have collaborated or am collaborating with such bands and artists as: MBB, Lumen, New Day, Gospel Joy, Inicjatywa Muzyków Poznańskich Wielbijmy Go, Hallway, Ewa Nawrot, Orkiestra Zbigniew Górny, Sakala Brothers, Marcin Łosik Trio, JRM band, Jack & John Entertainment , Remigiusz Szuman, Robert Antkowiak Trio, Gosia Andrzejewicz, Projekt Sinatra, Kasia Stroińska – Sierant, Improsonus Qartet, Swing and Classic Quartet, Pinocio Brothers, Dorota Wróblewska Quintet, and my MRS Trio.

In 2021, I started cooperation with the Yamaha School, which also coincided with my desire to complete my education in Jazz and Stage Music at the Academy of Music in Poznań in the jazz drums class, which I graduated in 2023.
