Bartosz Rajpold

Countertenor and teacher. A graduate of the Vocal Department of the Academy of Music in Poznań, he studied solo singing with Dr. A. Stefanowicz (countertenor, Warsaw). He also studied with Rita Dams, Michael Chance, and Peter Kooij at the Royal Conservatory of Music in The Hague, and with Barbara Mądra-Bednarek, Andrzej Ogórkiewicz, and Robert Nakoneczny.

He has reached the semifinals of prestigious international competitions (Cesti Gesangwettbewerb – Innsbruck and Canticum Gaudium, Poznań).

He made his debut in 2009 at the Grand Theatre in Łódź, singing the role of Ptolemy in G. F. Handel’s Giulio Caesar under the direction of Paul Esswood. In 2014/2015, he performed the roles of Ottone and Narciso in the operatic production of G. F. Handel’s Agrippina at the Stanisławowski Theatre in the Royal Łazienki Park in Warsaw, conducted by Lilianna Stawarz and directed by Natalia Kozłowska.

He has collaborated with many distinguished conductors, such as Christophe Rousset, Ottavio Dantone, Giovanni Antonini, Raul Sochaczewsky, Vincent Dumestre, and Agnieszka Budzińska-Benett, as well as with ensembles specializing in early music performance, such as the Accademia dell’ Arcadia, the Choir of the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, Capella Cracoviensis, Capella Viridimontana, Le Poeme Harmonique, and the Poznań Baroque Ensemble.

In 2016, together with Mikołaj Rajpold, he created the innovative project “Przełącz się na Barok" (Switch to Baroque), combining baroque music with electronics.

Currently, he teaches at the Yamaha Junior Music Course and is the artistic director of the Yamaha Music School in Poznań.

He has extensive experience working with both children and adults.
